About AsbestosExposure.ca
Who runs this site, why it exists, and how it makes money.
What this site is
AsbestosExposure.ca is an independently operated Canadian information resource for people affected by asbestos exposure. We publish plain-language guides to:
- Asbestos-related diseases (mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis, pleural disease, and others)
- How provincial workers' compensation for occupational disease works in Canada
- How asbestos trust funds pay out and who can claim from them
- How to find an independent, licensed Canadian lawyer who handles these claims
Who operates it
AsbestosExposure.ca is operated by an independent Canadian publisher. Specific operator details and corporate registration are available on request , info@asbestosexposure.ca. This section will be filled in with the operator's legal name, city, and business number once the operator has confirmed disclosure.
Note to the operator: replace this paragraph with your name (or business name), Canadian city / province, and how to contact you. Sites that hide their operator are treated as less trustworthy by both readers and search engines, and a real name is required to publish under Canadian journalism and consumer-law conventions.
What we are not
We are not a law firm. We do not represent claimants, hold trust funds, provide legal advice, or file claims. When a reader wants to pursue a claim, we connect them with an independent Canadian lawyer who handles asbestos and mesothelioma cases. Any relationship the reader forms with that lawyer is separate from us.
We are not doctors. Nothing on the site should be relied on as medical advice. Please consult a physician about symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.
We are not affiliated with any workers' compensation board. Our provincial pages summarise how each board works and link to their official sites. We have no role in your claim.
Why we exist
The mesothelioma vertical online is dominated by very large US law-firm marketing sites. Canadian claimants are underserved: US settlement averages and trust-fund figures do not map neatly onto provincial workers' compensation, and most Canadians don't know they may have compensation options through more than one path (WCB, trust funds, and civil claims). This site fills that gap.
How we make money
AsbestosExposure.ca is funded by advertising from independent Canadian law firms that handle asbestos-disease claims, and by advertising from asbestos-testing and abatement services. Advertising does not change what a claimant pays and does not affect what a lawyer can recover. See How we make money for details.
How we source information
Every content page cites its sources and shows a "last reviewed" date. Our primary sources are Canadian government and medical bodies (Health Canada, CCOHS, Canadian Cancer Society, CAREX Canada, Statistics Canada, and provincial workers' compensation boards), IARC monographs where relevant, and each asbestos trust's published Trust Distribution Procedure. See Editorial policy.
